Galangal Root Essential Oil
Galangal Root Essential Oil, India, (Alipinia galanga), is also referred to as "false ginger". Galangal Root is distilled from the rhizome and is in fact related to true ginger and Cardamom. It is not surprising then that Galanga blends well with these oils and shares a similar notes. The aroma of Galangal Root Essential oil is clean and fresh, with camphor traces and penetrating spice and wood nuances. Not surprisingly there is also a cineole note because of the natural content of up to 30 percent of the chemical. The primary constituent, however, is methyl cinnamate at close to 50 percent. Galanga also blends well with Eucalyptus since cineole is a component they have in common. Moroccan Chamomile Oil, Dalmatian Sage Oil, Cinnamon Oil, Allspice Oil, Lavandin Oil, Pine Needle Oil, Citrus Oil, Rosemary Oil, Myrtle Oil, and Patchoule Oil all blend well with Galanga Essential Oil.
