Gingergrass Essential Oil, India, (Cymbopogon martini), steam distillation process for extracting Gingergrass oil is derived from the grass of the plant Cymbopogon Martini, which has an yellow golden color and warm earthy aroma quite exotic and sensuous. Gingergrass essential oil blends well with Cananga oil, Rosewood oil, Amyris oil, Sandalwood oil, Guaiacwood oil, Cedarwood oil, and other floral scented essential oils. Gingergrass essential oil can cause irritation to sensitive skin and thus should be used in smaller area with dilution before application.
Gingergrass oil very effective for allergies of throat, colds, cough, inflammation, sinusitis, sore muscles, and muscle joint pains, etc.
Cymbopogon Martini, Gingergrass Essential Oil, India (C. martinii var. sofia) a close relative of palmarosa has a unique chemistry and subsequently unmatched aroma. The oily grassy notes are due to the interesting Perilla alcohol that also adds a fatty-herbal kick. A synonym for Perilla alcohol is dihydro cuminyl alcohol. Fresh rosy notes with a slight woodiness are perhaps the reason Indian soap makers have used this essential oil extensively for decades.
