Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil, Madagascar, range of historical health applications in different cultures, and over years some of the anecdotal uses included boosting cognitive function and memory, rheumatism, help digestion, menstrual disorders.  More current use is helping curb the urge for tobacco.  The National Institute of Health recommends chewing cinnamon sticks when trying to quit the use of tobacco.  Cinnamon is high in antioxidant activity, the essential oil of cinnamon has antimicrobial properties which can aid in the preservation of certain foods.  Cinnamon essential oil has also been used to help diarrhea and other problems of the digestive system.  

Cinnamon Leaf Essential oil, Madagascar aroma is warm, and spicy but not nearly as sweet as cinnamon bark.  Cinnamon Leaf shares similar nuances with clove leaf but is yet uniquely cinnamon.  Cinnamon leaf also not as tenacious as the bark oil.  It is understandable that clove leaf and cinnamon are similar since Eugenol is the main constituent in both.  This also tends to make them "heavy".  Clove and cinnamon leaf blend well together.  It also blends well with citrus oils, especially good orange oil.  Several prominent soap makers use cinnamon leaf and orange blends in their products.  Cinnamon leaf oil also blends well with peppermint, bay, vanilla, and bitter almond.  Cinnamon leaf makes an excellent Potpourri.
